Fantastic experience: This beach is marvelous. Perfect water in every way, fine sand, with paid parking, €6. Limited capacity, which is appreciated as it doesn't get overcrowded and you can move between Monsul and Genoveses as you like until 8:00 PM.

Fantastic experience: Stunning. Wild and scenic. Warm and crystal-clear water. A lot of wind but beautiful. Behind the large rock, there is no wind and the beach is calmer, to the left of the rock. There are specific entry times for the beaches (Genovese, Mónsul, and 2 others), attached photo, decided by the council regulating the entries. You have to queue a bit beforehand, but it can be done; we went on August 12th and easily found parking. Wonderful place and unique landscape around!

Negative experience: The queues you sometimes have to wait in are too long (~30'), and that's if you can get the car in because you arrive before the capacity is exceeded. Any day in August can be full and you have to turn back, look for parking in the town, go to the stop to get tickets, be surrounded by people feeling hot, and arrive at a beautiful beach (like many others) overcrowded. Then you have to wait for the bus back in the blazing sun (the shelter doesn't exist or is small) and take the bus back. Arrive at the town, and go to the car or however you came. What a pity.

Positive experience: For us, it's a bit overrated. We understand that the beautiful part is the landscape it's in and the pleasant fine sand, but on a windy day like we had, we couldn't enjoy it as much. It's curious that Indiana Jones was filmed there. You have to go through the access control, 6€, and we arrived at 11 am and had to park in the barronal area but still close to Monsul.

It's far from everything, so you need to bring everything you might need. We arrived before 8 am on a weekday, there were already some cars, we were able to sit by the beach. Negative experience: Fatal, an hour and a half drive to be told that the beach is closed and they block our way, I don't recommend going, it's a virgin beach but they have already taken over it to make business as always, thieves.

Positive experience: Attention!!!‼️ Natural Beach, access is closed from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Capacity control. I mention this because we didn't see any information about hours in the reviews.

Negative experience: A very beautiful beach, but they charge you €6 under the pretext of 'natural ecosystem conservation', yet there are no trash bins on the beach itself, and the few containers available (outside the beach) are not for recycling. Therefore, I really don't understand the justification for the price, especially when they don't even provide facilities for taking care of the beach.

Positive experience: Beautiful beach close to several coves. To access by car, you have to pay (€6). The day we went, it was quite windy and you couldn't sit with the towels on the beach; they flew away and the sand hurt.

Nonetheless, it is a beautiful place where its dune and volcanic formations stand out, in addition to its clear waters. If you arrive early, you can find shade, although you have to be careful if you sit in the shade of the mountain, as a big rock fell on a boy while he was there.

Positive experience: Very beautiful. But we went when there was a yellow flag and a lot of wind, and it was super uncomfortable. We had to leave after half an hour because the sand was stinging and the sea was very rough.

Beach with limited parking, €6 per car for the maintenance of the Natural Park, and once parked you are 200 meters from the beach. Fine, dark sand... without stones, transparent waters, where you can see many fish, a marvel in summary. Besides being the setting for an iconic movie.

Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach, ideal for families. It's quiet and has an area in the fossil dune where you can dive safely to see fish and octopuses. The beach is spacious as capacity is controlled. I recommend going early to be able to access.

IMPORTANT: - The parking is €6 for cars. - If you want to go by bus, tickets can be purchased in the town center for €3 (round trip) - Walking is allowed but I don't recommend it (20 minutes to Playa de Genoveses...)

Negative experience: Es una lástima que una playa tan bonita , la estén explotando de esta manera. Ya que se dedican a cobrar ya en el mes de junio, se dediquen a limpiarla. Colas interminables de coches y al llegar a los niños que cobran “solo efectivo”, te dicen que está llena!! Se está perdiendo el encanto de estas playas.

Fantastic experience: La playa un espectáculo, su acceso una odisea. Hay que llegar al lugar muy temprano (8 o 9 de la mañana como máximo) para poder acceder al parking de vehiculos, ya que tiene aforo limitado y son pocas plazas. En la última rotonda de acceso se ponen dos personas y prohíben el paso cuando está lleno. La opción alternativa es coger un autobús que tiene varias paradas en las distintas calas (Genoveses, Barronal, Monsul, Media luna y Carbón). El servicio de bus sale desde la parada que existe en el centro del pueblo de San José (al lado del Supermercado Suma) y hace paradas en cada cala, dejando a los viajeros a unos 200m de la playa. Los ticket de autobús sólo se pueden comprar en la oficina de turismo (al lado del supermercado Suma del centro) y muy importante: sólo admiten pago en metálico. Además, en nuestro caso, íbamos con mascota (un perro pequeño) y tuvimos que buscarnos la vida en la zona para comprar un transportin en el que pudiéramos llevar al animal, ya que en el autobús no permiten subir animales sin él. Como última opción, existe la posibilidad de aparcar el coche por las inmediaciones de la rotonda de acceso al camino de tierra que lleva a las diferentes calas y transitar a pie los 4km del mismo (distancia menor hasta la primera Cala: Genoveses).

Positive experience: Playa bastante amplia, bonita pero a mi gusto no es la más hermosa de Almería ni de España. Pero si visitas Almería es lógico que pases a conocerla y tomar tu respectiva foto.

Fantastic experience: One of my favorites in Cabo de Gata. Virgin beach, soft sand. You need to arrive early because parking is limited and then they don't allow more cars in.

Fantastic experience: Iconic beach due to its volcanic landscape, its dune system, and the filming of movies like The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, among others. Access is limited during high season and the parking fills up quickly. Access by car while the entrance is open costs 6 euros. Alternatively, you can take the bus or walk.

Positive experience: Stunning beach - no doubt. Be cautious when conditions aren’t right. The waves and currents might be strong here. We didn’t dare to go for a swim and went to Playa de los Genoveses instead.

Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches. Beautiful and really comfortable. To get there, you have to pass through a dirt path of several kilometers, which can be a bit complicated with a car (if it is not very prepared), but it is worth it. Absolute peace and tranquility.

It’s no wonder it has been a film set. There are trails to walk. Simple and with beautiful views. Let’s make sure it stays this spectacular. During the summer season, there are quite a few people. Positive experience: Beautiful and easily accessible beach. We went in low season (May) and we parked practically next to it. There was a lot of wind but it was very pleasant. Suitable for going with dogs. As a curious fact, movies like Indiana Jones, The NeverEnding Story, and the music video for Ave Maria by David Bisbal were filmed here.

Fantastic experience: YOU CANNOT CLIMB THE DUNE. The beach is spectacular, especially from a geological point of view. However, it is important to note that it is a fragile space from an ecological perspective and it must be respected: the informational sign says so already. You cannot climb the dune! It is very serious to see people on top of the dune.

Fantastic experience: Attention! Very windy but also beautiful :). The sun and waves create an extraordinary play of light and you can dip your feet in the water. When we were there, the water was too wild to swim in, so maybe leave the swimwear in the car. Protect yourself well from the wind! It goes into your eyes, attacks your legs, and sticks to everything outside. But this inconvenience could be overlooked because of the beautiful place. A wonderful experience and that's why 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic to walk in the footsteps of Indiana Jones and the beach is beautiful. Access is via a gravel path but in good condition. There is no direct path connection between the Cabo de Gata lighthouse and the beach, you will need to go around through the interior if you come from the lighthouse.

Fantastic experience: Unique beach: sand dune and lava rocks. The scene with the birds in Indiana Jones was filmed here - Sean Connery unforgettable. Accessible only via a kilometer-long gravel track.

Fantastic experience: One of the standout beaches within the national park, the combination of the sea with its beaches is a true spectacle, somewhat overcrowded during the summer season.

Fantastic experience: Another of the most interesting beaches of the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. In this case, we didn’t find that characteristic white sand of other beaches in this Natural Park. Here we find darker sand due to the fossil activity that occurred millions of years ago. This does not make it lose its charm.

Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful and famous beaches of Cabo de Gata. You have to see it no matter what. We visited in February and had no parking problems and of course, we didn't pay; we were alone. The access road is dirt and parking is marked. After a short walk, you reach the beach and can enjoy the volcanic rocks and the cleanliness of its waters. This beach is sand and not stones. A beach famous for being the setting of several movies.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful natural beach, especially watching the sunset. In summer you have to pay to enter, unpaved road but good.

Fantastic experience: Very pretty beach with fine, grey sand. Quite open waters - not a bay. Mostly empty in October, with more people to the west beyond the rock (presumably for shelter). No facilities or development (as with most beaches in Cabo de Gata).

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, small and quiet, notable for the characteristic rock on the easternmost part. It is well remembered for being the beach where the scene of Indiana Jones and the umbrella with the seagulls was filmed. It can be accessed via an unpaved path, about 5 km from the detour. There is a nearby parking lot about 300 m away for walking access. There are no services, trash bins, or showers as it is a virgin beach.

Fantastic experience: Among the beaches of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park, Mónsul is probably the most beautiful. If you want to reach it by car, arrive early (before 10) to ensure a spot in the parking lot just a few steps from the beach (entry 6 euros from San José). Bring food and water because you won’t find any bars or anything here, just two bathrooms in the parking lot. An umbrella is highly recommended. And don't forget to take a selfie like Indiana Jones in front of the iconic rock! :)

Fantastic experience: The most beautiful and famous beach in Cabo de Gata, beautiful for its fine sand, crystal clear waters, and the eroded volcanic formations that surround it and make it unique, famous for having appeared in numerous films and commercials. In the center of the beach stands a large rock called Peineta de Mónsul, which has become the emblem of the natural park and the beach itself. The Peineta resembles a gigantic petrified wave that seems to want to return to the sea.

Fantastic experience: A visit to this beach is a must just like the rest of the Almeria coast. If I had to nitpick, it would be that you have to pay to access it if you go to the parking, but what can we do.

Positive experience: For me, it's the best after Los Muertos. You can go snorkeling, although there isn't much variety in fish; I would say it's the same species as in the whole area. The water is very clear. Additionally, it has the big dune that invites you to climb it haha. The photos are from the top of the dune.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with calm sea and a super scenic landscape. Ideal for going with family and sliding down the giant dune! It has parking but it's small, so during peak season it fills up quickly! It states that it is paid (6€) but in October we were not charged anything.

Fantastic experience: From my experience at Cabo de Gata, it has been the beach I liked the most. To enter, you have to pass some barriers, where they charge you 6 euros for ecosystem maintenance. Upon arrival, there is a large parking lot, you walk a bit, and you see a gigantic dune. You arrive at the beach, and the walls surrounding it are rocks of volcanic origin, stacked on top of each other, impressive!!! The sandy beach, crystal clear water, ideal for snorkeling. It's worth spending a day there.

Fantastic experience: The most beautiful one I have seen in all of Andalusia

Negative experience: A beautiful beach... BUT extreme access regulations for cars in summer. You pay 6 euros for parking fees only to wait for 1-1.5 hours in the blazing midday heat during the assigned entry time (only from 9-11 or 14-16). The road is wide enough for parking, and the beaches are not very crowded. It's a shame for the poor inspectors at the entrance, a shame for the lost vacation time, and a shame for the environment because all the cars have their air conditioning running.

Fantastic experience: At Cabo de Gata, there is Mosul beach, a large and spacious beach with very clean waters, few people, and access that is not too complicated, and like almost all the beaches in that area, it has stones.

Fantastic experience: A small beach with black sand. For my taste, it has more charm than Playa de los Genoveses. In the Cabo de Gata - Nijar natural park. Restricted access in summer with a fee of 6 euros per car.
