Cala Mondragó
Information
Cala Mondragó is a stunning beach located within the Mondragó Natural Park. It features soft white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters, making it one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca.
Visitors have noted several positive aspects:
- Beautiful Natural Setting: The surroundings are spectacular, providing a picturesque environment for relaxation and swimming.
- Facilities: There are basic amenities including a life guard, small kiosks for refreshments, and restrooms.
- Accessibility: A public parking is available for €6 a day, with a short 5-10 minute walk to the beach, which is manageable.
- Ideal for Families: It's a great spot for families, featuring shallow waters and nearby picnic areas under lush vegetation.
- Adventure Opportunities: Possibilities for kayaking and exploring the nearby coves add to the experience.
However, there are notable downsides:
- Crowdedness: Many visitors remarked on the beach being extremely crowded, especially during peak hours, which can detract from the experience.
- Limited Dining Options: There's only one restaurant on site that is often busy and does not take reservations, and some found it overpriced.
- Navigation Issues: Navigating to the beach can be tricky as GPS directions are often inaccurate; it is advised to follow local signs instead.
- Parking Fees: While parking is convenient, the fee may be considered steep by some, especially during the busy season.
Overall, Cala Mondragó is a must-visit for its beauty, although planning ahead for crowds and parking may enhance the experience.

Fantastic experience: Cala Mondragó is an absolute gem on the Mallorca coast—a place where the beauty of nature truly shines. Tucked away in the Mondragó Natural Park, this beach is a haven for those seeking crystal-clear waters, soft golden sand, and an unspoiled Mediterranean landscape. Surrounded by pine forests and rocky cliffs, the beach feels like a slice of paradise that remains largely untouched. One of the best things about Cala Mondragó is the atmosphere. It’s calm and family-friendly, perfect for both relaxation and adventure. The waters are shallow near the shore, making it ideal for children, and there’s plenty of space for snorkelling along the rocks, where you’ll find a variety of marine life in the clear water. For those who enjoy exploring, there are scenic walking trails that offer panoramic views of the coastline and lead you to smaller, hidden coves nearby. Facilities here are simple but sufficient, with a small beach bar serving refreshments and loungers available to rent. There’s also parking close by, though it can get busy during peak times, so it’s best to arrive early. What makes Cala Mondragó special is the feeling that you’re stepping into a quieter, more authentic Mallorca. Unlike some of the island’s busier beaches, this one has a laid-back vibe, with fewer crowds and no towering hotels in sight. It’s a place to disconnect, soak in the sun, and enjoy Mallorca’s natural beauty at its finest.
Fantastic experience: My favorite beach is small but cozy, with a nice snack bar and access to the park. You can hike there too. The water is clean, and there are a lot of fish.

Fantastic experience: Visiting Cala Mondragó in Mallorca was a beautiful experience. The beach is surrounded by lush greenery and rugged cliffs, creating a natural, secluded feel. The view is absolutely stunning: crystal-clear waters with shades of blue and turquoise stretch out against the white sand, and you can spot the rocks beneath the water near the shore. It’s an ideal spot to unwind, take in the scenery, and enjoy the calm, untouched beauty of Mallorca’s coast.

Fantastic experience: One of my favorite beaches that we went to on this incredible trip to Mallorca. I absolutely loved how crystal clear the water was and how white the sand was. I thought the beach would’ve been packed for sure but instead, it really wasn’t. They have umbrellas and beach chairs you can rent or you can lay down wherever you’d like. There are a couple little beach shops if you want some food or beach snacks, ice cream, drinks, etc. The water was INCREDIBLE and it felt like a pool. Despite it being SO cold, it was absolutely worth it. The water was as fresh as ever and SO clean. You could swim, do laps, snorkel, float, relax and enjoy. The favorite thing was having the fruit girl jam out to her fruits while selling mango, coconut, pineapple, watermelon and all the delicious fruits you’d crave while being at the beach.
Fantastic experience: Crystal clear water and talcum powder sand. Spectacular
Positive experience: The beaches in Mallorca are all SO BEAUTIFUL and Cala Mondrago is no exception! It's got white soft sand and unreal blue water! There's a lifeguard, a small kiosk, and bathrooms.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful cove within the Mondragó natural park. Its waters are crystal clear. The surroundings are spectacular and although it is overcrowded with boats, the water is clean. You can dive along the sides and a cave near the coast. If you have the chance to rent a pedal boat or you have a kayak or paddle board... the walk you can take is fantastic. There are several beach bars. The parking is €6 for the whole day, €3 from 5:00 PM, the cove is about a 10-minute walk (on asphalt) from the parking. Good cove for families.
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca (the left side of the bay). Not too crowded. Next to it is a restaurant where you can have lunch. We would love to come back.

Negative experience: Extremely crowded beach. The water is full of people and the bay is very busy with anchored yachts and paddle boats going in and out. The lifeguard blows in his whistle constantly which is very disturbing. I have not experienced such an unpeaceful place in other Mallorca beaches. So it’s definitely not worth the 1 km walk from the parking to the beach, we are not coming back.
Fantastic experience: Cala de Mallorca is one of the most beautiful. It is far away but it is worth it. Ideal for families, it has a wide beach with white sand, the bus arrives and there is a restaurant I haven't been to but it must be very good because people wait without hesitation. Reservations cannot be made at the restaurant. It is worth noting that there are lifeguards on the beach. There is free parking nearby. There are also recreational areas in the forest.
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach with clear water. There are also many shaded sunbeds due to the trees. Sunbed rental is available. There is also a beach bar/restaurant and kiosk. A public toilet is also available. The parking lot is a bit far and paid (6€/day). Two more beaches can be reached on foot. Lifeguards are present. The bus stop is right in front of the beach.
Positive experience: Cala Mondragó. A paradisiacal beach with white, fine sand surrounded by pines, featuring crystalline waters and an incredible mountainous landscape. Let's get to the point: There is a parking lot nearby, about a 15-minute walk from the beach, costing €6 per day, but if you look and are lucky, there are free parking spaces available along the side of Cala des Borgit. The beach is very spacious and has many pines on the sides that almost reach the shore, providing many shaded spots; it also has an area with umbrellas on the sand. It has all kinds of services including lifeguards and restrooms, as well as a beach bar. In theory, it's good for snorkeling, but on September 4th, I found it quite full of posidonia (seaweed) and the water was quite murky, but this shouldn't be the norm; I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Cala Mondrago is the most beautiful spot in Mallorca for me. The cove has beautiful corners and angles, and you can stroll along the cliffs above the bay and enjoy great views. If you are there at the right time and the lighting is just right, the boats seem to 'float' above the water as if they were flying – an impressive sight! If Mallorca becomes our holiday destination again, then reuniting with Cala Mondrago is at the top of the wish list...

Fantastic experience: Stunning, crystal clear water that surrounds 2 beautiful beaches. Fantastic food

Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove, ideal for snorkeling, paddle surfing or using inflatables, it has two beaches, the smaller one where the sun sets earlier and the larger one where the sun sets a few hours later. You can get there by bus. The beach bar sells some excellent calamari at a price of 14.50€ for a portion.
Positive experience: Very pretty with white sand. The sea was really very dirty (hydrocarbons/oil on the surface). Paid parking. Catering, surveillance, sunbed rental.
Negative experience: €6 for a parking 10’ away from the shore. You can park right outside for free. This (very small) cala is located within a natural and protected reservoir which was the main reason why we agreed to pay the parking. It was disappointing and sad to see the sand full of plastic. Sea color was average, smelly and had rests of orange oil on the surface. Truly disgusting. Please take my advice: when you get there keep walking for 10’ and get to Cala S’Amarador. You won’t regret it
Fantastic experience: Una playa muy bonita y tranquila ideal para nadar y hacer paddle surf. Tiene playa de ambos lados. Maravillosa.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, especially because of the clear water. You can definitely snorkel well here. You can park nearby, but we chose the path through the Mondragon National Park. From there, you have a good view of the beach. The water was very pleasant in temperature. Since it is a popular beach, it is likely to always be somewhat crowded.
Positive experience: Warm turquoise waters, fine white sand. But there are many people during peak season and few interesting fish for snorkeling.

Fantastic experience: Twin beach trio with crystalline water, a very nice coastal stroll.
Positive experience: Great Beach !!
Fantastic experience: My favorite beach is small but cozy, with a nice snack bar and access to the park. You can hike there too. The water is clean, and there are a lot of fish.
Fantastic experience: beautiful cove
Fantastic experience: Crystal clear water and talcum powder sand. Spectacular
Positive experience: Beautiful place but a bit crowded
Fantastic experience: Just wonderful. Go early!
Positive experience: Isolated
Positive experience: It's okay, but there aren't many places to jump into the water, and they're not very high.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove in Mallorca, there is a public parking for €6. There is also a restaurant where the food is not bad, but they do not take reservations. There are no showers. Arrive early to get a spot.
Positive experience: The beaches in Mallorca are all SO BEAUTIFUL and Cala Mondrago is no exception! It's got white soft sand and unreal blue water! There's a lifeguard, a small kiosk, and bathrooms.
Positive experience: beach equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers or also free. clean water. after 11 am it starts to get really crowded. there are also pedal boats. nearby a bar/pub and a kiosk. presence of a paid parking lot about 500m from the beach.
Positive experience: Very, very crowded! Magnificent cove but paid parking! The restaurant is very expensive but good. The water is exceptional and the cove is still quite large despite the crowd.
Positive experience: In summer, access is closed to visitors (or you take a 45-minute detour). Only residents. And the code for the route takes you to Mondragón beach, which has parking, but it's paid.
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach
Positive experience: Beautiful but very crowded
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, wavy, beautiful water
Positive experience: Many people - July. The water is clear, azure. It is not possible to jump from the cliffs/rocks, the canoeists really don’t help. Unfortunately, the second part of Cala S’amarador was flooded with trash.
Positive experience: A charming place, too bad about the strong wind
Negative experience: Beautiful wide beach, we were probably unlucky to go on a windy day with choppy seas, resulting in a massive presence of seaweed in the water.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach that always includes some sun loungers and umbrellas available for rent at €19.50 and a part of the beach that is free where people set up their personal umbrellas. Clear and clean water, one of the best in Palma I've seen.
Positive experience: Beautiful but they divert you halfway with alarming signs that the GPS is wrong. IT'S FOR REVENUE, they charge you for parking.
Fantastic experience: My favourite beach so far :)
Fantastic experience: Super cove! Even though the GPS doesn't take you to the right place, the road is very well marked! I recommend it!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful cove within the Mondragó natural park. Its waters are crystal clear. The surroundings are spectacular and although it is overcrowded with boats, the water is clean. Positive experience: Not recommended in July and August, but if you really want to go early in the morning, directions are poor.
Fantastic experience: The cove is spectacular, but it is too crowded to go; the number of people in such a small cove is an exaggeration.
Negative experience: More than 1 hour of travel and super bad access, very narrow two-way streets. More than 400 cars went to Cala Mondragó and we couldn't go because when we arrived it said there was a GPS error and we had to take a detour much further away and worse with a queue of cars...
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful beaches on the island
Fantastic experience: Excellent beach, clean, tidy, tranquil
Fantastic experience: Located within a protected national park, you arrive by car at a parking lot that does not offer hourly rates, but rather 6€ for the entire day. With a 5-minute walk, you reach this wonderful cove, with white fine sand, surrounded by cliffs that protect it from the wind even on very windy days, like the one we encountered. The only downside is that it is quite small and crowded, so I recommend coming in the morning to avoid too many people.
Positive experience: It is an excellent place
Positive experience: Note that the GPS point for Cala Mondrago is not correct. Use this point for parking: 39.3460129, 3.1871674
Fantastic experience: Beautiful
Positive experience: Beautiful little beach connected just a few steps to the other. Clear water and main services nearby.
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful spots on the island... and there are many! But this surely has stayed in my heart! Stunning!
Negative experience: I'm sure that this is a stunning beach in the middle of a nature reserve but it has been spoiled by the fact that they allow numerous boats to enter the bay and are happy to fit in as many tourists as possible. Perhaps off season and on a weekday it might be bearable but at the weekend it was awful. Arrived, paid the 6 euros for parking and left shortly afterwards.
Fantastic experience: The GPS sends us to the wrong location according to what they say at the entrance of a private property, but there is a sign and you just have to follow the directions. You pay about €6 for a good parking spot, but the beach is 5 stars.
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach. Guarded parking for €6/day on site.
Fantastic experience: Very quiet cove. It's good to spend the night on the boat here.
Positive experience: Nice little beach. Like all the others, very crowded. Nearby parking is paid, €6 for the car.
Fantastic experience: Top 10 beach in Palma de Mallorca, small area but with breathtaking scenery. Crystal clear blue water with that temperature that makes you want to stay in the water all afternoon. It's a shame to pay 6€ for parking, but with access to this and another top 10 beach, it's worth it. Beach with beach services but a bit pricey. I recommend it for a nice afternoon.
Fantastic experience: Great beach. There is fine sand, wonderful water, sanitary and gastronomic facilities. The parking is large, paid and takes a few minutes to walk to the beach. You just have to watch out for the access because the GPS leads through a closed road - luckily someone has already put up signs indicating where to go (GPS is wrong :)
Fantastic experience: Incredible place. Just make sure to bring water because the beach bar is a bit pricey.
Fantastic experience: Excellent, one of the best coves on the island. Very quiet.
Fantastic experience: Very, very beautiful, quite crowded but worth it.
Fantastic experience: Very cool beach to go with kids in the late afternoon
Positive experience: Beautiful cove, a picnic area right at the cove with plenty of shade and green vegetation, sea with crystal clear waters and very fine, white sand
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca (the left side of the bay). Not too crowded. Next to it is a restaurant where you can have lunch. We would love to come back.
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite coves without a doubt on the whole island
Fantastic experience: Very accessible and crystal clear waters but with very little space
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca, it is definitely worth visiting, and I recommend going after 5 PM, not only will you find a spot in the parking, but you'll also have the quietest beach and be able to see the sunset.
Fantastic experience: In my opinion, this is the most beautiful cove I have enjoyed in all of Mallorca. During my 4 days visiting Mallorca, this is the cove I enjoyed the most, swimming and taking in the views that the place offers. It is an indescribable pleasure to swim 20 meters away from boats in those crystal-clear turquoise waters, and the water is so clear and clean that it is a joy I would repeat a thousand times more.
Positive experience: I speak from the cove of s'amarador. I wanted to go to Mondrago but the GPS took me to the other one. They are connected and you can walk from one to the other, but BE CAREFUL, if it happens to you like it did to me, you will arrive at a parking lot that costs €6 regardless of how long you plan to stay. The person who attended me was very rude and spoke to me the whole time as if I were stupid; the service from their side was dreadful. To get to the beach, you have to walk about 5 minutes. There were some seaweeds, but that is usual in the coves around here, by the shore area.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach and turquoise water. Parking costs €6 and motorcycles €2. It's ideal to arrive early and spend the day.
Fantastic experience: Very busy
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach
Fantastic experience: Magnificent cove!! A few jellyfish though, be careful
Fantastic experience: I liked Nur Cala S'Amarador (right next door) even better.
Fantastic experience: Parking at the nearby parking lot for €6 (2024). Card payment is possible. After that, a short walk to the beach, which is truly dreamily beautiful. A large tree provides shade, but there is also enough space for sunbathing. The water is clear and the entry is shallow. There is a restaurant, as well as a beach lifeguard. The kids and we really enjoyed it.
Positive experience: A lot of people, hotels nearby so many families. It's small so people are really on top of each other. Otherwise, go very early. From Cala Mondrago, you need to walk along the coastline to the left (10 minutes on foot there is a dedicated path) to reach a much quieter and equally beautiful cove (turquoise water too) but be careful, more waves and swirls. The path to get there is beautiful.
Fantastic experience: The best cove for me, crystal clear and very clean water, fish swimming beside you and not as crowded as cala Llombards or others.. It's my favorite and I can only recommend it.
Positive experience: Pretty sandy beach. It is part of a trio of 3 coves connected by a very accessible walking path. It is possible to do all three coves in 30 minutes. In my opinion, this is the least beautiful of the 3 coves, although it is still very beautiful.
Fantastic experience: Paradise only at 2 hours away from home...
Fantastic experience: They are two small beaches connected by a promenade with very cool views
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, I recommend going.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, food and drinks are sold on the beach. The parking fee of €6 for the whole day is definitely worth it, along with the short walk. Don’t rely on Google Maps for the route, but follow the signs to Parc Natural de Mondrago; this will lead you to the parking lot and the beach.
Fantastic experience: One of the best coves in Mallorca, you can visit the next cove by walking along the boardwalk, there's a parking lot for 6€ the whole day and it's a 5-6 minute walk to the cove (downhill). There are several beach bars that are very good!
Positive experience: While you can park here, we reached this beach by walking from Caló des Borgit and then on to Cala S’Amarador. Lovely beach but gets a bit crowded.
Fantastic experience: Very cool cove. Next to it is the Cala S'Amarador. Parking is €6, and it's a 5-minute walk along the road to the cove.
Fantastic experience: Heavenly cove with turquoise blue water like from a picture book.
Positive experience: Beautiful small cove.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic little beach where you can swim and sunbathe well. In addition, there are nice short varied walking routes of about 20 minutes each that are also suitable for children. Very suitable for an active and/or relaxed day with the family.
Fantastic experience: quite empty, no people trying to sell you anything and a beautiful area for hiking! Absolute Caribbean feeling
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, but visible jellyfish in the water like in Spongebob. Also, the drive was a wild ride, but still noteworthy. They also don't sell coconuts for €20 here.
Fantastic experience: In the period when the season is not yet in full swing, something breathtaking. Beautiful circuit with views and luxurious beaches. Only the excursion boat briefly disturbed the view, but it's a matter of 20 minutes. I recommend visiting these places. Restaurants offer bottled small beer at €4.25 for 0.33L and draft small beer at €3.25...
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, you can walk to the next one as well, there is a parking for 6€ at the beginning and you walk for 700m, a nice road that leads up to the beach, there is a no entry sign for non-residents, a sign warns that cars without a permit will be towed (parked cars must display a permit sticker on the windshield).
Fantastic experience: Great beach with really clear blue water. You can really relax here. There are also some small hiking trails that you can walk on which lead to other beautiful beaches. During the off-season, it was quite quiet. The bus stop is right by the beach.
Fantastic experience: beautiful and equipped beach (difficult to find this combination in Palma de Mallorca), sand with pink hues and emerald-colored sea, I spent a day in this place and I can say that it is absolutely a spectacle of nature.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove, and parking is 5 minutes from the beach. 6 euros for the day is great, in Palma that's what they charge for 2 hours or a little more. Hehe.
Fantastic experience: A beach with stunning views, and the water is very clean as well. It's worth it!
Positive experience: Beautiful place... Crystal clear waters and a nice walkway surrounding the area, which has more than one cove and they are connected.. Vegetation and sea. A place to visit if you're going to Mallorca.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach in the natural park
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, highly recommended. You leave your vehicle and walk to the beach about 800 meters, I would return without thinking about it.
Positive experience: La Cala is wonderful, but it is in a natural park, so you can't go by car... And it's an hour away from Palma by car!
Fantastic experience: It's a paradise in a nature reserve. Highly recommended.
Negative experience: Do not follow the GPS instructions, when you arrive, it turns out to be a road only for residents and tourists are prohibited from passing, we did not get to see it.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, crystal clear, it is possible to take a trip to the nearby coves.
Fantastic experience: Very nice sandy beach. Only one place for food around. The water is amazing but there were a lot of weeds.
