Fantastic experience: Huge kilometer-long beach to enjoy, walk, go with your dog in winter... in summer there’s an area for them too, you will always find surf courses surrounded by surfboards and a pleasant breeze, a beach worth visiting, there is parking at the entrance.
Positive experience: Beach with the services of an urban beach. It can be accessed from several places in Somo. However, parking is a bit more complicated and paid in summer. Large and you can walk to Loredo. Very beautiful.
Positive experience: Difficult to park in the surroundings, some seaweed. Otherwise, it's fine.
Fantastic experience: Sandy beach with dune access areas and landscapes of Cantabrian coastal forest. Kilometers of beach for walking, outdoor activities, water sports... it has several watchtowers.
Fantastic experience: Great beach, very convenient and affordable parking on the Somo side. If you can't find parking, you can go to the nearby town (5€ per day).

Positive experience: A wonderful and very long beach. It's a shame they don't allow a piece of one side for dogs. It's clear that those of us who have dogs shouldn't have to pay taxes since we can't go to many places with part of our family. And I extend this to all beaches.
Positive experience: The beach is wonderful. Long enough to walk, plenty of sand, clean. Why did I only give it three stars? Because of the policy they have with this beach where out of the kilometers and kilometers of length, there are only three parcels that don't reach 500 meters between the three, the rest is occupied exclusively by surfers. The sea belongs to everyone, and we all have to take care of it; it's not exclusively for the business of a few. However, dogs do have regulated hours, since they can't take euros from them!
Fantastic experience: Ideal for dogs and children, it doesn't cover anything, although chihuahua-sized ones have to swim at 50 meters. If you plan to swim, you will find it difficult unless you reach halfway into the sea.
Fantastic experience: Huge and clean beach. I don't know what it will be like in season, but going outside of summer is great, as long as you're not afraid of dogs. I have to say that finding horse droppings is not pleasant, but that's the owner's fault.
Fantastic experience: I love coming to this beach, it's great for surfing, sunbathing, and swimming, they usually have lifeguards on duty during the season, and they allow dogs in the low season and summer (at certain times)

Fantastic experience: Beautiful wide sandy beach. Shower available, nice small seaside town nearby for an ice cream or drink. Surfboard for rent for only 20 euros for the whole day including wetsuit. Ideal! No sunbeds or anything for rent, but we didn't want that either. Makes the beach more authentic.
Positive experience: Spectacular beach, but it can't be and the city council is responsible for the decreasing number of swimming spots; the beach is reserved for surfers, with kilometers of beach and only a few very restricted areas for swimming.

Fantastic experience: A great place to enjoy surfing, an excellent beach with all the necessary services. Nearby parking, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and enough space for everyone. And great and good schools to learn this beautiful sport of surfing. We repeat for the second year.
Fantastic experience: The beach is beautiful, large, and wild, located in front of Santander. The sea is suitable for surfing and having fun in the water. I love the free Spanish beaches where you can't find a beach club even if you pay for it. And there's not even a bar on the beach, so make sure to bring your own food and drinks. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach, large, with many waves, showers, a beach bar nearby, and many great places to eat.
Fantastic experience: Wide beach. Very well located and surrounded by restaurants for lunch or dinner. Clean.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful sandy beach with great surf. The local area has a few surf shops, supermarkets restaurants and hotels. The area is calm and you'd need to go to the city for anything else. There is a ferry that goes from Somo to Santander.

Fantastic experience: Long beach with big tides, there are many surfers. On Calle Latas there is blue zone parking for €5.50 a day, which is great, just 2 minutes walking to the beach. Along the path, there are several bins to dispose of trash and there is also the lifeguard station. Every morning they clean the beach.
Fantastic experience: A surf beach where you can swim in a designated area. It is spectacular at low tide and even more so when the tide is high. Recommended for watching the sunset in summer with the sun setting over Santander. 5 stars because it has a lifeguard and there aren’t too many people.
Fantastic experience: Good access, clean beach, lifeguard at all times.
Positive experience: One of the best beaches in Cantabria without a doubt, too bad that the access, the lack of showers, and the scarce security personnel make me rate it 4 stars.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach to spend the afternoon. Very clean and well maintained. A great place to be with family.
Fantastic experience: Extensive beach with colder waters than in Santander. You can participate in water sports either solo or with groups in classes. There are various surf schools in the area.
Fantastic experience: Somo beach was a busy and lively beach mainly full of the local atmosphere and people as opposed to the tourist vibe. This meant we enjoyed a peaceful stay on the beach here and it was simply beautiful and worth the boat trip from Santander.

Fantastic experience: One of the best places i have visited in north of Spain. Nice area for surfing and kite surfing as well

Fantastic experience: Unique place to go with family.
Negative experience: Even on holidays, the blue zone works. The beach is fine, but it's a shame that even on holidays they charge for street parking, on the street, not in a parking lot or anything.
Positive experience: I visited in 2022 and the beach is beautiful and not crowded, the village is also beautiful, very pleasant for everyone.
Positive experience: Spectacular beach, but it can't be and the city council is responsible for the decreasing number of swimming spots; the beach is reserved for surfers, with kilometers of beach and only a few very restricted areas for swimming.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful
Positive experience: Immense beach to walk.
Fantastic experience: Ideal for dogs and children, it doesn't cover anything, although chihuahua-sized ones have to swim at 50 meters. If you plan to swim, you will find it difficult unless you reach halfway into the sea.
Negative experience: The beach and area are amazing. But the culture here is not about surfing; it's about charging and extracting money from everything they can. Good culture for eliminating tourism. Not recommended.
Fantastic experience: Good access, clean beach, lifeguard at all times.
Fantastic experience: The beach is very spacious and clean. Fine sand and facilities like well-maintained restrooms and showers. Worth repeating.
Positive experience: On one side of the dunes, a beach for surfers, beautiful. On the other side, a vast calm water beach for dogs. There's quite a bit of seaweed, but that's the only downside.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, wonderful views, wide, plenty of space, shallow water where children can also swim. There are no crowds, and there is no shortage of parking in the area. Next year I will be looking for accommodation in this area.
Fantastic experience: Probably the hugest beach I’ve ever been? It’s amazing, the sand is very soft and the waves were quite large, some people were surfing.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, clean and very spacious
Fantastic experience: Amazing beach with dunes and a huge expanse. Very crowded with surfers.

Fantastic experience: A very nice beach, with strong waves and nearby parking. It is not very crowded, so it feels comfortable there.
Positive experience: Beach with a perfect landscape. The sandcastle that we saw built was impressive. I don't give it 5 stars because it was a bit crowded.
Positive experience: Superb beach
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach...beautiful nature, different surfing options...even affordable bungalows...Everyone has their taste but this beach is super...when you walk further you come across a nice summer bar.
Fantastic experience: Nice wide and fine beach, high waves, perfect for wave surfers. Enough space for everyone and you can walk for long time on the beach to the end and backwards. In the morning and evening it’s also allowed to walk with the dog (until 09AM and after 08PM).
Fantastic experience: Astounding sand beach on the east side of Santander Bay. Very fine sand, really wide space and amazing views of the city on the other side. Many surfers ruling the waves. All the parking around is paid and gets extremely crowded during summer.
Negative experience: Complicated access with children, the water is very far from the towel area and it’s all for surfing, only a very small swimming area is designated.
Fantastic experience: Great beach to spend the whole day. You can surf, scuba dive, walk...
Positive experience: One of the best beaches in Cantabria without a doubt, too bad that the access, the lack of showers, and the scarce security personnel make me rate it 4 stars.

Positive experience: Great beach for adults and kids of all ages
Fantastic experience: Incredible place just a few minutes away from Santander by boat. During low tide the beach has 3 times its size and going for a few Kms walk on the shore with views over the city and the Magdalena Palace is just a privilege
Positive experience: Clean and large beach with high waves. Good spot for surfing.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach and good for surfing.
Fantastic experience: A fantastic and extremely long beach with awesome views across the bay to Santander. Surfers and surfing schools dominate the water and bathers should be aware and careful of being 'surfed over'. The beach forms a peninsula has two beach bars along its length. If you want calmer waters you can swim on the inland side in the ría.
Positive experience: Good morning to see if the weather is good
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach in Santander. You can enjoy it all day long. If you love surfing or willing to learn...this is your place.
